Didube bus station is one of the main intercity transport hubs in Tbilisi. It is especially useful for travelling to northern, western and south-western Georgia, including Mtskheta, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Gori, Kutaisi, Borjomi, Batumi and many smaller towns.
However, Didube is not one single bus terminal. It is a large and busy transport area around Didube Metro Station, with several separate bus stations, parking areas, ticket offices and marshrutka stops. First-time visitors may find it confusing, so arriving early is strongly recommended.

How to Get to Didube Bus Station
The easiest way to reach Didube is by metro.
Take Metro Line 1, also known as the red line, and get off at Didube Station. From Liberty Square and most central areas, take a train in the direction of Akhmeteli Theatre.
The bus terminals and marshrutka parking areas are located immediately outside the metro station. After leaving the metro, look for the name of your destination or ask a station employee or driver.
Tbilisi Metro normally operates from approximately 06:00 until midnight. A standard journey costs 1 GEL, and Didube is directly connected to Liberty Square, Rustaveli and Station Square without changing lines.
A taxi booked through an app is another convenient option, especially when travelling with heavy luggage. Enter the exact terminal name when booking, rather than simply writing “Didube Bus Station”.

Okriba Bus Terminal
Okriba is one of the more organised terminals in Didube. It is located at 151 Akaki Tsereteli Avenue and offers ticket offices, a waiting hall, luggage lockers, parking and other passenger services.
Okriba operates routes to destinations such as Kutaisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Martvili, Chiatura, Khoni, Ambrolauri, Oni, Akhaltsikhe and Akhalkalaki. Some tickets and schedules are available online.

Nige Bus Station
Nige is located near the lower exit of Didube Metro at 4 Karaleti Street. It operates frequent services to Borjomi, Bakuriani, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Batumi, Khashuri and several smaller destinations.
Nige publishes schedules and prices online, but passengers are advised to confirm that the service is operating and arrive 15–20 minutes early.

Main Marshrutka Area
Minibuses to Mtskheta, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Gori and some mountain destinations usually depart from the main marshrutka areas around the metro and the certified Didube terminals.
Do not worry if you cannot immediately find the correct vehicle. Say the destination clearly — for example, “Kazbegi”, “Mtskheta” or “Gori” — and local drivers or station employees will normally point you in the right direction.

Buying Tickets
There is no single ticket system for the entire Didube area.
Depending on the route, you may need to:
- purchase a paper ticket from a ticket office;
- book and pay online;
- reserve a seat and pay at the station;
- or pay the driver directly, usually in cash.
Okriba offers official online schedules and ticket sales for some routes. Nige also publishes schedules and allows reservations for many destinations. Smaller marshrutka routes may only accept cash paid directly to the driver.
Carry some cash in Georgian lari, preferably in smaller notes. Before boarding, confirm:
“Is this going to [destination]?”
“How much is the ticket?”
“What time does it leave?”
“Where will it stop?”
Do not accept the first shared-taxi offer without checking the price of the regular bus or marshrutka.
Do Marshrutkas Follow a Timetable?
Most intercity routes now have planned departure times, but the system is not always obvious to foreign visitors. Some marshrutkas may leave slightly earlier when all seats are occupied, while other vehicles may wait for additional passengers.
For this reason, arrive at least 20–30 minutes before departure. For popular summer routes such as Kazbegi, Kutaisi and Batumi, arriving even earlier is helpful.
Services to remote mountain areas may operate only on certain days or only during warmer months.
Luggage
Large coaches usually have a separate luggage compartment. Marshrutkas have limited space, and larger bags may be placed behind the seats, in the aisle or in another storage area.
Show your luggage to the driver before paying and ask whether there is an additional charge. Keep passports, money, electronics and other valuables with you.
Okriba officially provides luggage storage lockers for passengers who need to leave their bags temporarily.

The wider Didube area also contains bakeries, small cafés, fruit shops, pharmacies, ATMs and a busy local market. Conditions outside the formal terminals are more basic, and the area can be crowded and noisy.
Public toilets are available in different parts of the station area. Carrying a few coins is useful.
Destinations That Do Not Depart from Didube
Didube is mainly used for northern, western and south-western Georgia.
For Kakheti, including Telavi, Sighnaghi, Gurjaani, Kvareli and Lagodekhi, transport normally departs from the Samgori/Navtlughi, Isani or Ortachala areas.
Transport to Mestia and Svaneti may depart from Navtlughi or other terminals rather than Didube. Always check the exact departure point when booking.

Is Didube Bus Station open 24 hours?
There is no single opening time for the entire Didube transport area. Some vehicles depart early or late, but ticket offices and terminal facilities have their own working hours. Okriba normally lists working hours of approximately 07:00–20:00.
